As the operation continued into Wednesday evening, officials discovered a substantial cache of military supplies, including medicines bearing Pakistani markings, during a search.

According to Lt. Col. Suneel Bartwal, the Defence PRO, the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police had been tracking the movement of these two terrorists since September 7.

Despite adverse weather conditions and challenging terrain, the second terrorist was pursued and eliminated on the morning of September 13 after an intense overnight exchange of fire,” the PRO’s statement elaborated.

The statement further noted, “A significant quantity of warlike stores, including medicines with Pakistani markings, has been recovered. Sadly, one soldier from the 63 RR made the ultimate sacrifice, and three soldiers, along with a Special Police Officer (SPO), were injured. Additionally, an Army dog lost its life.”

Mukesh Singh, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Jammu, confirmed, “The second terrorist has been taken down in the ongoing encounter in the Narla area of Rajouri.” (With inputs from ANI)
